Autumn in Portland // Family session on film

In late September, I roadtripped over to Portland for a long weekend of photographing families, amaaazing food (still dreaming about my brunch at Broder), & visits with friends, old & new.

My time with these 3 was a personal highlight of my time there – so relaxed & playful, like old friends! It was non-stop, with the soon to be big brother at the helm, and I’m pretty sure I had a smile plastered on my face the entire time. After our sesh, I walked over for a solo coffee and beautiful pastry at Coquine and some people watching. (You can check out a few personal snaps from day on IG here!)

If you are in Portland and are interested in a shoot with me, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a chat!

Afternoon glow // Bainbridge Island Family session on film

Nothing beats the Pacific NW in the summertime and I was thrilled to find out that this trio wanted to adventure to the sea for our time together – like they do so often together as a family. We walked from their home, through the neighborhood, the forest, a little playground, and then down to the water.

Choosing an activity that is a part of the normal routine adds a real element of comfort for everyone involved and, I think, adds an extra dash of nostalgia to the images.

Here are some of my faves! All shot on film and developed and scanned by The Find Lab.

Nostalgia in the making

After my Cuba trip earlier this year, I hopped over to visit my brother and his fam in Florida and snapped some shots of them the yard of their very first home. When I see these photos, I imagine what it will feel like for them to looking back on these photo is 20, 30, 50 years and be transported back in time to these precious days.

This is a thought that I often think about when I am photographing people actually. Nostalgia in the making.

At home with Jodi of Hygge Woven

I’ve really been loving connecting with creatives in their spaces lately. Absorbing some of the magic and observing their flow leaves me feeling so very inspired. And that was definitely the case of my time with Jodi – the maker behind Hygge Woven /Hygge Prints.

Spending a cozy morning with Jodi in her home here in Port Townsend, Washington felt like such a gift. The chill of Autumn was in the air and we spent our time together staying cozy, chatting, sipping on tea and I got to document her in her creative flow. Here are some of my favorite snaps, all shot of film.

Summertime on Whidby Island

I feel so lucky to live up in the PNW, where things like clamming are possible! We decided to give it a try for the first time with our best buddies & after lots of research, we woke up one Saturday morning at dawn when the tides were low & took the ferry over to Whidby Island from Port Townsend.

I brought my 35mm film camera along to document our time. I only wish I would have taken photos of the yummy chowder & pasta we made afterwards!

Flower Power // Afternoon on the farm with Space Lotus

Space Lotus Floral Collective is dreamy collaboration between Jules of Space Twins Provisions and Natalie of White Lotus Farm. Not only do they grow the most gorgeous of blooms, but they sell their organic veggies and fresh sourdough bread at our local Farmers Market, which is how I learned of them initially!

Spending the afternoon basking in their glow, surrounded by flora and fauna was the biggest treat for me and I just love the photos we made together. Here are some of my faves, all shot on film and processed by The Find Lab.
